No Father Nathan Monk, homelessness isnt CAUSED by not having a home; that is more a dis-ease, for some anyway. More often then not, thats a symptom of something else, an underlying cause. Homelessness is being in a situation where you cant...or choose not to...pay to have a socially acceptable space of your own, I opine; homelessness doesnt CAUSE homelessness. In my case, its a volitional choice, but Im well aware its not true of most street folk. Quite obviously, Im disagreeing only w/your premise that homelessness causes homelessness. Although there are many reasons, as you said, why some people dont have homes...natural disasters and warfare cause their loss sometimes, but those arent those whom are normally termed homeless; street pep, panhandlers, sign flyers, etc. are those whom are more normally termed homeless and castigated...you have to know that not all street folk want one. As you well know, or should, there are many that dont want...nor will accept...bureaucratic BS. The fact that youre advocating to help those that are willing to accept the govt or private providers strictures is both commendable and laudatory...I do both; a tip of the hat to ya! I prefer freedom to rules however...but thats just me. Bottom line though bro, youre right, life shouldnt be a blame.
