No Report today.....Just a big ol Shout Out to my 1st Baby Boy! 6 years ago today, I waited for the doctor to tell me if you were a boy or a girl. You had to come out early so you wouldn’t be over 10 lbs, which I wasn’t happy about, I was hoping for 12 lbs! (because you weren’t coming out of my shoot!) But I was happy that you were over 9 lbs, MY BIG BOY! I have known your name since I was 18, I just had to wait for you to arrive. Once he looked at me and said "Sgt Rogers you are now the proud father of a healthy baby boy" (yes, I waited to find out on both of my boys….it was exciting actually!) The first thing out of my mouth was "Wash it off!" :) I stood over you and watched you in amazement as they wiped you off, squeezed stuff in your eyes and wrapped you up in your blanket. Your mother got mad at me because I wouldn’t let you go and let her hold you too. I held you until she went to sleep. It was like the whole world went silent and there was no one but me and you. You were what I had prayed for, for years and there you were. Not sure what your mother had in mind for your name, but it wouldn’t have mattered anyway. They asked and I answered…His name is Charlie Bernard Rogers. I wait for you to turn 18 so I can see you as a man, I reminisce over the days of coming home from work and having you fall asleep on my chest and now in these days I watch you in pure wonder and joy as you grow in front of my eyes. You are named after my father and my best friend….my heroes! So you have been set up for success from the start. Happy Birthday Charlie Bernard Rogers! Turning the big 6!
