*No Rose-Style Democracy nor Democracy through Rose Revolution! * Francis Fukuyama: ‘Democracy cannot put down roots in stony ground’ I say NO. The problem is not in the ground, Fukuyama. It is the plant, Stupid! Democracy is not like a rose; you can’t just take a cutting from the rose bush you would like to grow and immediately plant the cutting, and expect it to start putting out roots within the next week or so! You can’t plant democracy like Rose or through a Rose revolution! You cannot plant democracy from abroad and expect it to put down roots, and then ironically blame it on the ground when your so called ‘democracy promotion’ fails. Democracy might be as beautiful as Rose but ain’t like a Rose; hence, no Rose-Style Democracy or democracy through Rose Revolution!
