No Take Backs ~ As a child, I remember using this expression. Urban dictionary (which I cannot believe I am quoting here) describes the phrase this way: no take backs - the command that instructs another party that once they have given you something they cannot change their mind. When we give our lives to Jesus Christ, we surrender to His control. (Luke 9:23) That is salvation. In our daily walk with Jesus, we surrender to His control. (Romans 12:1) That is sanctification. The Bible makes it clear that committing ones life to Jesus Christ is a no take backs proposition. Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Heb 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul. Luk 9:61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house. Luk 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Saved people, Christ followers, follow Jesus. Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Joh 10:4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. Joh 10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. If you truly gave Him your life, friend, stop trying to live for your self. There are no take backs. 2Co 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Amo 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Luk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Love to all!
