No matter ones thoughts or particular leanings towards Thanksgiving Day, the true harvest feast thats commanded in the Scriptures to be celebrated, FOR EVER is typically ignored & not taught by the Churches. Concerning this feast, here is a quote from our book: ...The Feast of Tabernacles, also called the Feast of Ingathering or the Feast of Booths. It is the harvest celebration. It is called the Feast of Booths because people dwelt in temporary structures such as booths or tents for the duration of the Feast. This Feast is found in the seventh month of the Scriptural year and is again identified with a reference to the new moon. You cannot properly find the seventh month, unless you can properly find the first month . . . and the first DOES NOT start in January. The Feast of Tabernacles starts the fifteenth day of the seventh month and lasts again for a period of seven days, regardless of the weekly cycle. At the end of the Feast of Tabernacles there is one last special day called, The Last Great Day!! What do you think that day is all about? You can read more about the feasts and the Scriptural system of time in Leviticus Chapter 23. You may want to read Chapters 23, 24, 25 and 26. Notice, there are no Scriptural commands for feasts in Winter. Travel would be cumbersome and a hardship. It is not the way Our Creator does things. The Feasts are welcomed events! People gather from many different geographic areas to share, study and enjoy each others company in addition to good food and the blessings we have received. If you have never celebrated these Feasts or enjoyed the comradery and sharing that takes place with others of like mind and hearts, you no doubt have been deprived of the opportunity and enjoyment of true and proper worship. ~Christianity Unmasqued, Chapter 6: Its About Time For more info, book orders, chapter excerpts, click here: ChristianityUnmasqued
