No mission in Australia has ever hit over 100 baptisms in one month. The average, at least in the Brisbane mission, is between 35-40 a month. Spencers Mission made it a goal to hit 100 baptisms during the month of June. They just found out they hit 105! Spens Mission Letter - Hello family! How is everyone doing?? I hope all is going well!! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! I hope you had a great one!!!! Well, the one year mark has passed!! It’s so crazy to me!! I really never thought that it would go this fast!! It really has flown by! As the day rolled around it was really hard for me! I took a second though and thought about it. I thought about what I have done, who I have helped, who I have met and a ton of other things!! I truly am so so grateful for this mission! What an opportunity!! It’s like you’re in a greenhouse and the Lord, if you allow Him, will take you and start to shape you in all different ways through the people you meet or the experiences you will have!! I know that God really does have a plan and truly knows all of us!! Right now God is allowing me to serve him. He has allowed me to let go of myself for two years so that he can make a man out of me for my family and my future family!! I would like to share some things that I have come to learn on my mission! 1. God Loves us! - He Truly loves us no matter what we have been through or what mistakes we all make!! HE loves us no matter what!! There have been times in the mission that are a little lonely, I won’t lie. As I have prayed and communicated with my Father in Heaven I have felt and seen his love for me! I have also seen the love for his children as we invite them to come to unto Christ!! 2. I have come to know MY Savior - In my mission I have loved to learn about Jesus Christ and learn who he truly was!! As I have done this I have noticed more of his hand in everything I have done!! I have come to feel Him walking with me! 3. The Power of the Atonement - I have seen the power the Atonement on my mission whether it was in my life or the lives of others!! The Atonement is the Power that makes this whole thing work!! 4. Love - I have come to know the power of love. I have come to better know what love truly is and how to show it a little better!!! Love is so powerful!! 5. Doctrine - I have come to Love The Doctrine In the Gospel!! I love to study it!! When Doctrine is taught and understood it changes behavior faster then anything else! 6. Faith - Before my mission I thought that I knew what faith was! I knew very little. It’s through our faith that allows God to work in our lives!! Faith is an action not just something you say! When we have Faith anything can Happen!!! 7. Work!! - I have come to love work!!! I don’t know why but I really enjoy getting out and doing something hard!! There is such a good feeling after when you have done something hard!!! Work breaks us down so that God can build us up!!! Hard work is the key to success! It is said that the difference between someone really successful and someone that is well off is just 10% more work!!! 8. Family - I have come to know how important familys are to me and to our Heavenly father!!! They are the support system! They are the love that we all need to feel! I love my family and I’m so grateful for all they do for me and how much support they give me!!!! We are a Tribe!!! Family is something so important to me!! 9. Prayer!! - I have learned how to kneel down and have a conversation with my Heavenly Father!!! It is one of the most amazing things to have!!! I love to kneel and thank my Heavenly Father!! I love to teach people how to pray!!! Its amazing to see someone that has never heard of God do their first prayer and watch them realize someone is there for them that can see and do all things!! 10. Serve - I have learned what it truly means to serve someone!!! I truly know that when we do serve someone else, when we do something nice for someone, we feel happy and love!!! I have come to know that service is a way for us to know God better!! I love my mission!! Im so grateful for it!!! It has taught me so much and blessed my life so much!! I can honestly say that I have never worked harder in my life then this last year and I have never been happier!! I love you all!!! Elder Tribe!!!
