No one could truly know the extent of our Saviors agony of soul, the bitter aloneness of His task. Even those closest to Him were nearby, but so very far away. They had no idea what the call on the life of Jesus would demand. Yet, rather than withdraw, Jesus pressed into the Father and earnestly desired the fellowship of His friends. Communion and fellowship were His only strength in the time of overwhelming pressure. Our walks with God can at times be lonely, but withdrawal from fellowship is never the answer. We are wise to know our true strengthening comes from shared Presence.
