No one ever assumed a vegan world would happen overnight & promoting anything less than veganism totally disregards the victims- the non-human victims, who should be our main focus. Anything less than veganism, ie vegetarianism, etc. focuses on the human steps or personal progress and that is speciesist behavior. There are trillions of lives at stake. The animals should *always* be considered first, and that is why we promote veganism as the moral baseline. If you were the non-human victim you would want total abolishment- a vegan world, and you would not be ok with some people exploiting you part of the time. There is absolutely nothing wrong (in fact it is absolutely necessary) with engaging folks in civil discourse and providing a clear, educational message to go vegan. The educator provides the clear message to go vegan, and the non-vegan can choose from there which path to take but what is important is that they received the message to go vegan, nothing less. Anyone who doubts this method or decides to promote less than veganism have not educated themselves to be a confident vegan educator. All it takes is educating yourself.
