No place is safe for women in India. Having said that, I would like to share two public places, which I have personally found are highly unsafe for women. The first is the subway opposite Metro theatre, Marine Lines. It is very desolated and lonely, and mostly frequented by street urchins, drug addicts and anti-social elements. Even if you have a male companion, please do not use this subway. The second place is the platform no.1 at Churchgate station. This place is frequented by mentally unstable men and women who give you menacing glances. When they pass by you feel as if they are going to attack you. While waiting for your train please sit and wait on platform no. 2 which is relatively crowded. If others know of any public spaces that are unsafe for women, kindly do share. Girls, these acts are not going to stop neither will stricter laws be imposed. We have no other choice but to protect ourselves to whatever extent we can.
