“No servant can serve two masters - for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” - Luke 16:13 Your “master” is the one you love, in whom you put your trust - the one who gives you joy. Does money (rather than God) give you a sense of security and pleasure? Then you are serving mammon. The Bible says to “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,” because money can’t deliver you from a very real Hell. The Bible puts it this way: "Riches profit not in the day of Wrath - but righteousness delivers from death." - Proverbs 11:4.
