No shoes, no service Today, a lady at Masia told me that the church she was attending told her to not come unless she had shoes. Im not sure if she has no shoes, or if her shoes bother her feet (she has some sort of foot problem). However, thats what happened according to her. No shoes, no church service! Can you imagine a preacher telling someone that they are not allowed to attend church if they have no shoes? In the New Testament, those who had fine clothing got more attention (see James 2). So, I guess it does happen. However, when you see it happen, it seems so absurd you wonder if you can believe what you are seeing. The only church clothing required is to put on Christ (Gal. 3:27). The Christian must put on his armor to be able to defend himself against the forces of evil (Eph. 6:10-17). Otherwise, whether or not you have shoes, a hat, a fancy dress or suit, nice trousers, or whatever makes no difference. Id rather see someone adorned in the inner man than to see them dressed up with the outer man but wicked in their inner man. By the way, this lady was baptized into Christ today. So now, she is my sister! And, if she happens to need some shoes, Ill let you know.
