No society can consciously develop based on a monocareer path. In my state of Akwa Ibom State, every Tom, Dick, Ekaette and Enobong want to become politician. In fact they want to be governor, commissioners, Senators, House of Rep members, state house members, local government chairman and if they can not be any of the aforementioned, they want to be PA. Intriguingly some of the political juggernauts never had any real life experiences outside the confines of their villages. What happened to developing a career as a diplomat, a seaman, working for international organisation like UN and even world bank and imf? The truth is we all cannot be politicians, some of us were born to be something else. Akwa ibom is blessed with so much expanse of arable lands. Government should encourage people to cultivate the land with various crops, people should also be encouraged to live life outside of politics.
