C: Western…have the fundamental thinking about pure self or soul, and use “the power of imagination” in seeking more than “realization”. Eastern…focus on the awareness in present moment or foundation of mindfulness. They don’t create a fake truth. If they do, it is only a method. C: No substance. No space. It must use the power of high realization. “Where there is no space” probably means the state of existence of ego has melted. Metaphor… In winter…water becomes ice or thick sheet. In summer…solid transforms into movable water. Both water and ice…are the same substance, but different forms. An enlightened person and unenlightened person…have “that” same nature. ---------------------------- Q: He’s studied Buddhism for over 15 years. His wife is Thai. C: He may still think like Hindu..! Q: He explained in this way that.. you cannot put something into a cup that is already full. C: That is only a metaphor. But the meaning is still at….”Form is form, space is space”. In the Heart Sutra…it advances to…”Form is space, and space is not different from form, form is not different from space”… Q: This sentence is very profound, hard to understand. Should I try to understand it? C: In eight sects of Mahayana, there is something mixed. Even in five groups of Zen, they focus on different thing. This matter should be used in preparation. But don’t let that belief become obstacle to the goal, which is to eliminate blemish and find the purity. Formerly we saw the picture of the moon. Today we have telescope that is capable to magnify and collect the pictures. We can see those pictures in another dimension which is different from the old one. Q: If I understand that form is space, I will understand this sentence, won’t I? C: Understand the procedure of its existence. That is interdependence. It makes itself exist but empty of itself, even in each moment of mind. It is like…a point and wave. Many points develop wave. A point..must also depend on the wave to exist. Q: I understand. Thank you. C: Only when Yi Qing (Doubt with no conflict) integrates into a big group (Yi Tuan), it can explode like a balloon compressed with air, so it can burst. The knowledge is not counted in like air or compressed power. There must be something suddenly interfere, and no space has a chance to manifest brightly! Q: (-/-) I will keep trying.
