Admittedly, it is probably not one of his most well-known songs but it is certainly one of the finest tunes recorded by Jimi Hendrix who died 44 years ago today. The song was released by the Jimi Hendrix Experience on May 12, 1967, on the bands debut album Are You Experienced? In honour of his Cherokee heritage, Hendrix dedicated the song to the American Indians and other minority groups.
