No wind to report, first wind on the horizon is not until - TopicsExpress

No wind to report, first wind on the horizon is not until Thursday Jan 15. Did hit a really fun day at Westport yesterday with Don Ledford. It was big enough to break on the second bar out and once thru the shorebreak it was really easy to catch a wave and then turn around in the deeper water shoreside for a dry paddle back out. With my 85 SUP only capable of 4.5 mph at full paddle power, the snip shows how many waves you could actually catch out there - pretty much one every three minutes. Having surfed Westport for around 15 years I have given up on trying to predict what the wave quality will be, I simply go out there now on days that appear to be survivable - at least for me. Yesterday was surprisingly pleasant with a 4 16 second period swell yielding waves in the shoulder to a bit over head high range and the outside break was very reminiscent of the break at Doheny.
