Noah was having problems with a bully a couple of years ago... I told him to think about how that child might be feeling, that he should forgive him, and how we can pray for him...the following year, he was happy to report that the bully was nice to him and he did indeed forgive him. Kids are much more resilient to these things than we as protective parents tend to think...its important to give them proper tools to deal with the situation, rather than assuming the role of a helpless victim. Not that we shouldnt be concerned, or take action to protect them, but we should (more importantly) be giving them tools to protect themselves and tools to help them recover should anything happen. On the flip side...Noah has also been THAT child. People dont understand the things that frustrate him and cause his behavior, such as his hearing impairment, his ADHD, and his inability to properly communicate whats on his mind sometimes. Please think about these things...all children are precious!
