Nobody can tell me that the public schools are failing. This was my daughters marching band three years ago at Ford Field, when they captured 3rd in state against a whole lot of other bands that were a whole lot bigger than them, but couldnt match the tremendous sound of this tiny band- even with sub-woofers, and all kinds of technology that SLMB didnt have the budget for. She is still in the same band for her Senior year, and they have made it to state finals the past two years as well. They are doing quite well so far this year, and I hope to see them enjoy continued success, despite all the political attacks on school budgets (which hurt extra curricular programs more than anything.) Let this inspire people to go out and support their local schools extra curricular programs.
