None Blues; but I was wondering what we all thought of this. West Ham United FC are due to move into the London 2012 - Olympic Stadium in time for the 2016-2017 season. Now, I have been to Upton Park a few times following Blues over the years and it has always struck me as a proper football ground with passionate fans who genuinely care about their club. The Olympic Stadium, in my opinion; is not a football ground. It is a concrete monstrosity, separated from the community. I cannot see how it will generate the atmosphere of their current home; given the distance between the pitch and the stands. Also, considering the fact that David Sullivan and the Golds are supposedly Hammers fans, I am very surprised that they have pushed this move given the history and tradition of the club. I remember a few years ago how they wanted to take Blues out of St Andrews and away from its history, community, and heritage. There is always something special about getting a bite to eat and a drink in town and making that walk through Digbeth and off towards the ground. I couldnt imagine going anywhere else. I opposed it then and I will always oppose it. Id like to see the Main Stand rebuilt at some point as I think that it lets the overall image of the ground down, but I would never opt to uproot the club from its home. What are your thoughts?
