Nook authors can upload their titles for sale on Nook devices and through Barnes & Nobles e-reader apps. Authors share the revenue with Barnes & Noble, with royalty rates based on list price. All authors are paid in their local currency. Barnes & Noble launched its self-publishing tool last year to compete with Amazon and attempt to attract authors. The company didnt say on Tuesday how its efforts have gone over the last year, but considering Nook sales are down significantly, Barnes & Noble might have been facing some trouble attracting authors to its platform. Regardless, Nook Press is available now across several Western countries. US publishers with worldwide rights will see their content automatically rolled out to newly added countries as they come online.
