Noori Jam-Tamachee Noori Jam Tamachi is aother mythical Sindhi folk tale which happened in the region of pakistan. It is a tragic love story, similar to Romeo and Juliet, between King Jam Tamachi, belonging to Unar, Noori, belonging to community of fishermen (Muhanas). According to the legend, Noori was buried in the Kalri Lake. Today there is a mausoleum in the middle of the lake for Noori that is visited by hundreds of devotees daily. The legend has been retold countless times, and is often presented as metaphor for divine love by Sufis. One of its most famous renderings is in Sindhi poetry by Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai in his Shah Jo Risalo. The legend of Noori Jam Tamachi took place around the Kalri Lake in Pakistan, and to this day there is a shrine in the middle of the lake marking Noors grave. Everyday hundreds of devotees visit the shrine.
