The ADL used to be reputable civil rights organization. In recent decades, however, they’ve evolved into a nutty right-wing group attacking those publicly opposing Israeli occupation policies (myself included) as “anti-Israel,” “supporters of terrorism,” and even “anti-Semitic.” I have been an active supporter of three of the organizations on their list—Jewish Voice for Peace, Code Pink, and Sabeel—none of which deserves these kind of labels. Unfortunately, the University of California has recruited the ADL to help them formulate their policies on anti-Semitism and scores of other campuses use the group to conduct trainings in “tolerance.”
