Normally I DO NOT post about bad things or slam others. However, I am extremely pissed off right now and I have a lot of local fans. We purchased our home in Feb 2014. We had tenants by the name of Jose/Ruben/Luis Barajas (he used all 3 names). He ran an HVAC Business our of my property called Rubens Heating & Cooling (Cicero, IL). Per him and the previous owners, his company installed the 2 furnaces in the basement. When we let him know that we would eventually need him to move out, he stated that he would take the furnaces. We thought we had that all settled. I went to turn on the heat, because the temps will be in the 40s tonight and I have a 10 month old in the house. It did not want to turn on, we did everything. Upon inspection, we found all the wires were disconnected. Photos are below. This business person purposely BROKE OUR FURNACE!!!! We returned his entire deposit to him after he moved out willingly 4 months after we purchased the house. He violated a code of ethics and I will be reporting him to the town to try to get his business license revoked. I wanted to put a warning out there about this SHADY GUY! I would recommend you stay far away from him/this business for you HVAC needs. I have another HVAC company coming out tomorrow to see exactly what is wrong with my furnace and how much this is going to cost us! For now I have space heaters.
