Normally I’m not awed by plane travel. What excites me is reaching the place, NOT the plane ride itself, especially since I always travel economy. But riding in this cute aircraft 3000-5000 feet above ground, with a gorgeous bird’s eye view of the changing landscapes below us- the Bataan mountain ranges were spectacular- truly changed my outlook. I can’t believe that just yesterday I was in Plaridel Bulacan in the morning then after only 45mins riding this four-seater plane I was already in Lubang Island, Mindoro. Riding on the tailwind, the 40min plane journey back is even faster than the car ride going back to Manila. All of these happened in just one day! This wonderful machine, the only one of its kind in the Philippines, can be chartered to go anywhere in the country as long as the place has an airstrip. Perfect for the moneyed but stressed and haggard corporate slave who needs countryside weekend getaways, but who lacks the time to travel more than 10 hours to those remote islands.
