A high near New Zealand extends a weakening ridge onto the east Queensland coast to the south of the monsoon trough. A deep trough extends from central Australia into far southwestern Queensland. The trough is expected to shift further east into western Queensland during Monday and Tuesday. An upper level trough will move east over southeastern Queensland during today and Monday. Forecast for the rest of Sunday Cloudy. Medium (60%) chance of showers. The chance of thunderstorms north and west of Cairns.
