Northeast - A nice weekend is on tap for much of the region with generally dry and cool conditions in place. - A weak and moisture starved system will streak across northern New York state and northern New England with some light rain and snow showers Sunday. - Temperatures will remain chilly through the weekend, generally in the 40s and 50s for highs. - The coldest air of the season will inundate the region Tuesday and Wednesday when temperatures will approach 20 degrees below average. - With the colder air next week, some light rain and snow showers may accompany the front early Tuesday. South - Except for some scattered showers in south Florida, most of the region will be dry and enjoy sunny and pleasant fall conditions through the weekend. - Brisk east to northeast winds will blow across Florida into Saturday, but should subside for Sunday. - Temperatures will be close to average through the weekend with highs mostly in the 60s and 70s. - Much colder air blasts into the region, especially the Southeast, Tuesday and Wednesday where temps will approach 20-30 degrees below average. - With the colder air, just enough moisture for some flurries or snow showers, mainly in the southern Appalachians late Tuesday into Wednesday. Midwest - A weak system tracking along the Canadian border will bring some light rain and snow showers from northeast Minnesota to the northern Lakes on Saturday. - Any snow accumulations will be very light, possibly an inch or two in a few localized spots. - The rest of the region will have dry conditions right into Sunday, along with breezy conditions. - Temperatures will be seasonal through the weekend, before a strong arctic front pushes into the Dakotas Sunday afternoon. - There will be gusty winds, some snow showers, and sharply colder temperatures as the front pushed through the region Sunday night and Monday. - This will be the coldest air of the season for the region with highs only in the 20s across much of North Dakota and Minnesota on Sunday. - As the arctic front moves through the Lakes and OH Valley on Monday, some light rain and snow showers are possible. West - A few light rain and mountain snow showers will linger from the northern Rockies back to Washington and Oregon into Friday evening. - Gusty Chinook winds along the continental divide and front range of Montana and Wyoming will diminish Friday night. - For much of the region the weekend should be generally dry. - Temperatures will be near seasonal averages in the north, and 5-10 degrees above average from the central Rockies through the southwest with mainly clear skies. - A strong arctic front will push southward east of the divide into Montana and Wyoming Sunday afternoon with some snow showers, wind and a sharp drop in temperatures.
