Northeast Animal Shelter Our day started with two boxes that were left outside. The top box was empty, but the bottom box had two cats in it! After searching the grounds the missing cat was caught. 2 of the cats were rushed to the vet because of dehydration and we realized these 2 had been in the box for close to 24 hours- their owners tried to dump them next door the day before. 10 min. later someone came in with a box with a cat she had discovered at Wal-mart. She had opened the box to see what was inside when 2 cats jumped out and ran. So now we have 7 abandoned cats, with 2 missing. We are going to make sure they get the care they need. Remember abandoning a pet is defined as animal cruelty under Massachusetts law, punishable by up to five years in state prison and a fine up to $2,500. Please just stop and think before you do something that could harm an animal. They need you to protect them. Please help us help them. Thanks. https://secure.northeastanimalshelter.org/donate.php
