Northern Railway PRESS BRIEF Dated: 05.12.2014 Sub: “Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan” at Old Delhi Railway station. As a part of its endeavor to provide a clean environment to the travelling public, Shri Anurag Sachan, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Northern Railway/Delhi alongwith Sh Vivek Srivastava, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Operations) and Branch officers of Delhi Division participated in a Shramdaan at Old Delhi raislway station on 05.12.14. This Shramdaan was organised as part of the ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan’ launched on 2nd of October, 2014 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister. More than 40 officers and about 100 staff participated covering over 12 demarcated zones. The Divisional Officers have decided to take up this drive on a sustained basis at this station DRM inspected the circulating area at both ends of the station. He instructed the RPF and station staff to take penalizing action against the people found littering/dirtying the station premises. During the month of October 741 people were penalized and the penalty realized was Rs 74600 and in the month of November 813 people were penalized and penalty realized was Rs 80200 at Old Delhi Railway Station. He also inspected the Deluxe toilets and instructed the staff to keep the toilets clean and also ensure that rate list is displayed at a conspicuous place.
