Northumbrian Water are starting work at the junction of St - TopicsExpress

Northumbrian Water are starting work at the junction of St Mary’s Place on 22 September which will require temporary three way traffic lights in place for up to four weeks. St Mary’s place between the Haymarket and John Dobson Street will be a no through road from Monday 29 September for up to six weeks. Due to unforeseen issues with access to their water pipe, Northumbria Water’s work has been delayed on Claremont Road and they are now running about four weeks behind their planned schedule. They now plan to accelerate works in order to recoup some time, as a result they will be working on Northumberland Street, outside Haymarket, in the pedestrian area from this week. This will involve digging an access pit which will cause some noise disruption as they dig through the paving. All businesses in the surrounding area have been notified by letter. They plan to move works from Claremont Road further along Barras Bridge this week, this will involve further traffic management including a lane closure heading from Civic Centre towards Haymarket.
