..Not -so -private thoughts on dating this late in life...in random order...who woulda thunk it???...forgive me for learning on the fly...this was unexpected...i had nothing prepared!!!!...so...here we are...hmmmm... ...I liken it to a simple guy who finds himself in a wine cellar..he doesnt know wine..he only knows that he is thirsty...he doesnt feel the urgency to choose his bottle...at his age he knows what he likes...as well as what he doesnt...if each bottle were like a woman..all aged differently...affected by their environment and internal ingredients...all with similarities..but each with subtle differences...the differences being more important to him than the similarities ...the differences that are impossible to detect...unless he looks inside the glass...maybe opening the cork for a small taste...a few sips...lightly at first...then maybe a whole mouthful...he doesnt need to drink the whole bottle in order to know if the taste is sweet on his lips...he doesnt have to rip the label completely off to see what the bottle holds...he just has to look closely...slowly...if the label falls off in his hands unexpectedly...he would surely honor that as one of lifes greatest gifts..he only touches those bottles that he already knows contain at least some of the major ingredients that capture his curiosity and demand a closer look..dont get it twisted....he is NOTHING but humbled and Blessed at the quality and quantity of his choices...a testament to the graciousness of his Father...he takes nothing for granted...ever...he sees beauty and value in every bottle he touches ...but he knows that eventually he will only select one..THE one...the one that God has set aside for him...that one that satisfies his thirst...the one that fills his soul and remains as sweet at the bottom of the bottle as if it were freshly opened....and as his search begins ...he drops to his knees...and bows his head and prays to his Father...not asking ,nor expecting that the search be short or easy...but that when he leaves the wine cellar with his pre-destined bottle....that his dignity...self respect and integrity leave with him....
