Not bad for a bunch of old farts.... Twenty years ago today, the Stones officially kicked off the Voodoo Lounge tour at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC. The tour would run for 13 months, take in 124 concerts and see the Stones play to a record 6.3 million people, grossing over $320 million ($495 million in todays money). At the time it was the most successful tour in history and, with adjustments for inflation, has only been passed since by U2s 360 tour and the Stones own Bigger Bang tour, both of which took place in an era of inflation-busting ticket prices. This tour saw the band visit Latin America and South Africa for the first time. Did you see the band on this tour? What are your memories of it?
