Not even I would have thought that I would someday preach the Word of God and that people across the entire world would read my words. Who would have thought…? The mother of a fellow classmate of mine while I was growing up once told my wife that she thought I was the least likely of any in my class to become a preacher. It is likely that many others have thought the same thing, but have not said it. There was very little indication in my early life that God was calling me. However, I was having long talks with God long before I invited Him into my heart in a pastor’s study in Oklahoma City. Unknown to me I had a great aunt who was praying that I would be saved and that I would not miss God’s call as her husband believed he had missed his call (She was praying the same for my son, Clark, after he was born). My parents and others knew about her prayers, but no one ever mentioned it to me until after I had publicly announced that God had called me to preach. What is God calling you to do?
