Not everybody, when they come into the church, has the Church come into them. Once we are saved we become firefighters of the Lord... using the hose of the Gospel to put out the flames of damnation by setting off the revival fires of salvation. We are to be encouraged and to encourage one another so that we can each continue fighting the good fight while seeking to fully complete each other as co-workers of the Kingdom Agenda and as members of the same Spiritual Body in which Christ, alone, is the Head. 18 Be sure that there is no man, woman, family or tribe here today who turns away from the Lord our God. No one should go and serve the gods of the other nations. People who do that are like a plant that grows bitter and poisonous fruit. Deut. 29:18 Easy-to Read Version 19 and so it may not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, ‘I shall have peace, even though I follow the dictates[a] of my heart’—as though the drunkard could be included with the sober. Deut. 29:19 NKJV 19 “Some people might hear these curses and comfort themselves by saying, ‘I will continue doing what I want. Nothing bad will happen to me.’ But that attitude will bring total disaster. 20-21 The Lord will not forgive them for that. No, the Lord will be angry and upset with them and punish them. The Lord will separate them from the tribes of Israel. He will completely destroy them. All the curses that are written in this book will happen to them. They are a part of the agreement that is written in this Book of Teachings. Deut. 29:19-21 Easy-to-Read Version 20 “The Lord would not spare him; for then the anger of the Lord and His jealousy would burn against that man, and every curse that is written in this book would settle on him, and the Lord would blot out his name from under heaven.Deut. 29:20 NKJV Footnotes: a. Deuteronomy 29:19 It is on the strength of the Lord’s oath to be Israel’s God and so to protect them that this Israelite flatters himself into thinking he is secure, no matter how he may behave. In the history of religion such a delusion has been lamentably frequent, and persons depending upon the unlimited protection of election have presumed on this and recklessly indulged in evil (The Cambridge Bible). The Bible emphasizes the “security of the saints,” but it is equally emphatic concerning the insecurity of those in conscious and continued indifference to God (Ezek. 3:20; 18:24, 26; Gal. 6:8; James 1:21; II Pet. 1:10, 11; Rev. 22:14). God is doing a Mighty work in you. Let Him do it. Otherwise you will be no different from the day youve heard the Good News than the days when you were ignorant to Gods Word. Hearing is Believing (Faith). And Believing (Faith) is Doing. Be you Doers of the Word, not just Hearers only. God bless you.
