Not everyone will understand this post. but some will. It’s to those friends I share this with. My oldest daughter Jessie, and I have a very unique opportunity today, we are doing two pieces of Chalk Art for a church. This opportunity came about as a result of a chance meeting and discussion with the Pastor who performed the wedding ceremony for my son Donald, and his bride Andrea, this past July. The two and a half months since this meeting have been interesting to say the least. In this time I have come to question everything in my life. I have become open to all possibilities. I have known hope that I thought had passed me by, and I have experienced a disappointment I never wanted to feel again (not even sure how that one is going to play out still). But through it all I have been my authentic self. I have worked harder than I have at any previous point of my life. And I’ve been up front and honest with everything I’ve done. I think the combination of the above is what has brought me to this chalk art today. I’m not looking at today as doing a piece of art. No, instead of art, this is an offering. It’s a small token of my appreciation for the opportunities God has recently laid before me. And a declaration of my willingness to face the changes before me with open arms. I want to get this right...
