Not exactly the typical debate conversation we have in here but I thought it would be nice for a change of pace: Well, now that the cast has been revealed only the Title & Plot remain a mystery. Its practically a given wholl reprise their roles in the up coming Star Wars VII film (to be realsed Dec 18, 2015): Mark Hamill - Luke Skywalker Harrison Ford - Han Solo Carrie Fisher - Leia Organa (Skywalker) Anthony Daniels - CP3O Kenny Baker - R2-D2 Peter Mayhew - Chewbacca But what of the new cast: Daisy Ridley - ? Domhnall Gleeson - ? Oscar Isaac - ? Adam Driver - ? John Boyega - ? Andy Serkis -? Max Von Sydow - ? Both George Lucas & J.J. Abrams have categorically said there will be no correlation between the new film and that of the Expanded Universe series. They only hint provided was that only the 6 orignial films are Canon. Nevertheless, having been succesful in predicting who each character really was way back when a New Hope was originally released. I figured its worthy of another try to see if I get it right this time. I dont know if being much older and having a better insight into what Lucas is thinking will be much help? He has a bad habit of changing things around that he once said was direct continuity. But hey what the heck I can only get it wrong, LOL. So, here it goes... While Lucas has said the expanded universe is irrelavant which hes likely telling the truth. There is some aspects of it that even he cant escape from. If we look back to the Return of the Jedi, it never makes claim that Han and Liea become Husband & Wife, all we are left to assume is they had a strong affection for one another and finally let one another know it. With this new film Star Wars VII and taking into account the age of the original cast from the first three original films. I dare say it will be set in the distant future. My guess as to what the plot will be, I havent a clue? Needless to say it has always been an established rule that the Force must be in balance and with the death of Anakin Skywalker (AKA Darth Vader) and Emperor Palpatine (AKA Darth Sidious) this left the Force out of balance. Therefore in some manner Evil must arise again to return the balance so as to fill the void it created when it went absent. I suspect the Jedi Code will remain and since the Jedi never really relied upon Jedi having children to fill their ranks, then its not likely we will see many offspring from the orignial cast (Say for except Han & Leia). I suspect Luke will assume the vacancy left by Yoda as Head Master Jedi. Whereas Leia will take a more politcal role in the newly formed Republic. Lets just hope Han isnt still bootlegging goods in the Falcon, LOL. As to what Han might be doing is impossible to say? It could be that Han and Leia split up but still retain a close connection still loving one another but unable to remain together. His travels keeping him busy and her rebuilding a fractured union of planets keeping them too busy to hold a relationship together. Anyhow, I believe our best hints as to what the story line might be is a closer examination of the newcomers and what their roles might be? 1. Daisy Ridley - I say her character is likely to be that of Jaina Solo, the daughter of Han and Leia. If you look at the actress she fits the perfect type cast for that role. Being that shes young attractive and a Brunette similar in every way to that of the characters of Leia Organa, Padmé Amidala, and Shmi Skywalker. 2. Domhnall Gleeson - I say his character is one of many possibilities, the least likely being that of Ben Skywalker. As I stated previously I feel Abrams wont disturb the Jedi Code by making Luke also have an offspring. In the situation of Han and Leia it somewhat different as neither was a Jedi and therefor could have children. Just because a person has some strength in the force does not a jedi this make, or so Yoda would say. So, as to what Mr. Gleesons actual character will be is difficult to say? And of course I could be mistaken he does favor a young Mark Hamill? 3. Oscar Isaac - This is one of the more difficult newcomers to guess what character hell be portraying. Ill have to think on that one a bit more. 4. Adam Driver - Another difficult actor its difficult to say what his character might be. 5. John Boyega - I think his character will turn out to be a relaitive of Mace Windu (AKA Samuel L. Jackson) if brothers and sisters can be blessed with the Force, then why not relatives? Its clearly something to think about? 6. Andy Serkis - Too young to be a forgotten Jedi from the old Republic that escaped death. So, its difficult to say what his character might be? Maybe friend, Maybe vilian? 7. Max Von Sydow - My best guess is his Character will be the arch-villain of the film, Perhaps a former Padawan of Count Dooku or Anakin Skywalker himself? Lots of various possibilities here but the actor is well old enough to play the perfect villian role. Whatever the plot there has to be the hero, the villian and some major charcter has to die. I dont believe Carrier Fisher and Harrison Ford will be reprising their roles after this one. Mark Hamill might appear in future films but in a very limited fashion as Alex Guiness did in the two later films of the original three... Any way there it is Im all ears for any comments or ideas you may have of your own.
