Not getting how police let a panic or pressure situation dictate - TopicsExpress

Not getting how police let a panic or pressure situation dictate emotional responses leading to excessive force. Yourre the trained professional in these situations. Imagine if NCAA football coaches facing panic and pressure in a game let it dictate an excessive response and they fly off and punch a RB for a fumble, a DB for blown coverage, QB for an INT. You dont see it much, if at all, because theyre professionals. With much power comes much responsibility. A football game is not a life or death situation but many of the recent cases where police officers were thought to have used excessive force were not either. If you lack the maturity to do this, dont wine when your professionalism is questioned or feel demonized when we point you out. It maybe that you need to find another line of work and let more mature police officers do the job. Just a thought. Carry on.
