Not going to waste any more energy on this negative situation, but my side needs to be stated. Although I really dislike public confrontations, the other party seems to relish on it. September of last year at a Repticon show in casual conversation with Ashleigh Bates, I mentioned that I was looking for a male Panther Chameleon. She exclaimed that she had one, and would be willing to let me borrow him to breed to my female. I said that would be cool, and honestly forget about it. Fast forward a month or so and Im at Tampa Repticon Vending. Up walks Ashleigh and Gary with a Chameleon in hand, no container to keep him in, and what looked to me to be a very stressed out, dehydrated animal. The Chameleon was handed to me, in the middle of the show, while I was conducting business, and they left! I was stuck with a dehydrated, very stressed out Male Panther, and no container to house the poor animal in for the rest of the weekend. Fast forward several months of rehabilitation due to heat bulb burns, frayed nails, sunken head pads, etc...and the male is finally thriving under my care. I paired him up with my female, keep in mind this is 3 to 4 months after he was given to me as a supposed Stud breeder. I returned the Chameleon to Ashleigh Bates, and her husband Gary at a Repticon show last month, in a proper container and in supreme health. The babies hatched 3 weeks ago, and Gary began demanding I give him half of the clutch. I told him no, there was never an agreement made, as I am not a Chameleon breeder, and wasnt even sure I would be able to successfully breed them. He then began to threaten and harass me over the phone, and consequently take the bashing to facebook. My main reasoning for not giving them the fruits of all my labor was concern for the animals. If I wasnt so fearful of theyre back lash I would have kept the Male, it was hard to send him back to those conditions. My life has been threatened and forget about the effort to tarnish my reputation. All over some baby chameleons.......
