Not long ago, I ran an anthropological test: I spent the week watching court shows. Only the real ones, not the scripted ones like Gloria Allred and Judge Christina Perez. In all the remaining programs, especially Divorce Court and The Peoples Court, I kept hearing a reference to a place I didnt know. At first, I thought this location was titled Da Club (I wondered if Dadaists met in public?) and then I discerned it might be called The Club. I had no idea where this place might be. Judge Judy is taped in L.A., The Peoples Court in NYC. Yet in both locales, Da Club or The Club was mentioned frequently. I checked directory assistance in both cities, but neither yielded such a place. Where could this place be? What was really puzzling to me is that so many people talked about, So we wuz at da club or She goes out to the club to shake booty. I am utterly at a loss as to where or what kind of place this could be. Anyone know?
