Not one to be upset my celebrity deaths, but this one has had me thinking: One of my earliest memories about my Dad is that he is a huge Robin Williams fan. I remember him watching Aladdin with me. I remember him taking me to see Toys when I was too young to get it. I remember him not complaining when me and my brothers rented Hook for the 50th time from the Video 2000 on Pantops. I remember him renting Jumanji to watch while babysitting my brothers. It has taken this tragedy for me to look back and appreciate just how much Robin Williams has been a part of my upbringing. Thank you to my Dad for sharing his comedic genius with me from such an early age. It is thanks to you that I can say the I AM a huge Robin Williams fan too. I use the present tense because even through this tragedy I still maintain the utmost admiration and respect for his body of work. My appreciation for his talents transcends his life and death. I can only hope to share some of these same memories with the children I hope to have some day. Rest in peace, Mr. Williams, you have left the world a happier, and better, place. And Dad, thanks and I love you.
