Not only are we not good enough but to make things tougher we have a reputation that our skill level does not deserve. I think the Premier League is partly to blame for this. This means that EVERY team we play up their game against us and we are not good enough to cope. Players are deluding themselves if they think we had Uruguay on the rack as they should have been at least two up before we equalised (esp the Cavani chance). The Defence has been a worry for some time and Cahill is the only one id keep but who do you replace the other 3 in the back line with? There isnt a lot of depth. Only thing that might (and I emphasize might) have made a difference was Cole at Left Back during the Italy game. And lastly, you have Paul Scholes and Alan Shearer giving their twopenethworth when they voluntarily retired from the National team. We should bring back public floggings for people like them.
