PULE A OE I LOU COMMENT... Talofa Mr. David Johnson, I am the student that you took in the hallway after class yesterday to talk to. Yesterday was my first day in your class so I did not get to hear what kinds of rules you set for class on the first day. I apologize if the way I was sitting made it seem like I wasnt paying attention. I dont know if youve noticed how small the classroom chairs are and how uncomfortable they are but I have to sit a certain way for me to feel comfortable, and I do that in all my classes that have small chairs. Also, I was not talking to my peers about anything else but trying to get notes, you were talking too fast and I couldnt keep up. I did not want to interrupt your lecture by asking you to repeat yourself so I asked a fellow classmate with the lowest possible tone I could use and asked for notes. First of all, I dont appreciate the fact that you confronted me saying that my head was not in the game and that you could tell I wasnt paying attention, when there was a student who fell asleep in your class during your lecture. I did not see you confront him for that, was there a specific reason why you didnt? Ive seen a student walk outside a couple of times for whatever reason and yet I got confronted for walking out once. Was there a specific reason why you did not confront him for that? Everyone needs a bathroom or water break every now and then during class, especially if its an hour and fifteen minutes long. Sir, I am in your class for a reason, and that is to fulfill my requirements for this semester so I can graduate in May. I am not there to waste your time, my time, or anyones time. And I know its a big university with classes galore like you said but classes are limited now and I have no choice but to take yours. Lastly, with all due respect sir, please do not call me bradah anymore, or anyone else for that matter. Anyone could take it the wrong way, especially while being confronted and coming from someone who is not of Polynesian descent. But I apologize if we got off on the wrong foot and if you take this message the wrong way, but I am just a concerned student. Keep up with the interesting lectures, I enjoyed it yesterday.
