Nothing excuses the actions of the Ft. Hood suspect, but it is further evidence (if we needed more) of how many Soldiers are struggling after more than a decade of war. Until youve seen it first hand, talked to or comforted a hurting Soldier, one does not understand the challenges or in some cases, the sheer terror of being a Soldier in a war zone. We all need to do our part to support these men and women. And it starts with a simple act of kindness--a hand shake or a hug with a mere thanks...you have no idea how a simple act can change a Soldiers day or their outlook on life.
