Nothing is more humbling than having a head cold and waking up - TopicsExpress

Nothing is more humbling than having a head cold and waking up several times in the night to wildly wet ones mouth with tongue (oh the taste of cave mouth) and know that its just going to go dry again in a matter of an hour. That HAS to be a universal experience, no? In any case, through my cottonheaded haze before bed, I flipped open a book, and read: Above all, remember that we are each following different routes along the same general path that leads us all to the same final task: surrender the self. Only through realizing the futility of spinning our wheels in the direction of personal control do we finally wake up to the truth that we are in control of nothing other than the moment when--or if--we can finally trust that our sacred contracts [our life mission] are governed by a force of wisdom much greater than our own. And that the arrangements you made prior to your birth will lead your spirit back home again. That is what surrender looks like. - from the book Sacred Contracts: Awakening Your Divine Potential by Caroline Myss Theres a lot there in that paragraph. To me, it reminds me that certain wants, certain frustrations are wheel-spinning in an intractable muddy groove...and that when our gears are rotating and fitting into the gears of the Universe in a particular way (which may not be what we think we want) things seem to just finger-lace, they click, together.
