Notice: Geoscience Careers talk - Wednesday 31st July "A Guide to a Successful Geoscience Career" 11.00-12.00, Wednesday 31st July 2013 Geological Survey of Ireland Lecture Theatre, Beggar’s Bush, Haddington Road, Dublin 4 The Institute of Geologists of Ireland is hosting a talk by Patrick McAndless of Imperial Metals, Canada next Wednesday 31st July 2013 at the Geological Survey of Ireland. The talk will focus on early-career development for geoscientists and will cover the following areas: - Defining success and being successful - Identifying the four key attributes that successful people have and how they manifest in your career - Effective ways of presenting your assets in written and verbal formats - Preparing a unique resume that flows like how we read a newspaper or magazine - Preparing for interviews and attending conferences in a way that will capture your intended audiences’ attention - Sharing the “secret” to a successful career in geoscience Patrick McAndless has over 40 years worldwide experience as a geoscientist and is currently Vice President, Exploration at Imperial Metals Corporation based in Vancouver, Canada. Patrick has given this talk to over 80 groups so far across North America. Geoscientists and geoscience students of all ages are encouraged to attend this free presentation.
