Nour International Aid, a nonprofit that provided medical supplies for humanitarian efforts in Somalia, marked up the prices of its supplies by 34 percent, and ordered supplies that were not authorized in the projects original grant. In the end, the organization charged the government roughly $80,000 in additional fees, which taxpayers ultimately paid for. The State Department- who failed to properly oversee such actions- in turn overpaid the nonprofit $1.6 million in taxpayer dollars.
