November 11th. This day means many diffrenent things for me. Yes, from a Shifty side of things, 11/11 is something I see as a date in which there is a little bit of extra cosmic energy coming through our life, meaning increased potential for synchronicity, creativity, feeling, graitiude, and reflection. While in addition to this, in Canada, November 11th is also Remembrance Day - coincidently the day in history that marked the end of World War 1. (Why wasnt it on November 12th? Because in some cosmic way, the univerise chose for it to be on Novermber 11th) So to me, it is a very interesting day. It is a day for people to be a little more open and most importantly empathetic. For myself, I do not use this day to create a statement of pro war or anti war, but rather bring my personal reflection and share my perspective and message about the reality and tragedy of war. Today, is a day in which we can allow ourselves to show that we are here to stand as one, as humans, with all of those who have been affected by war. From where we are it is hard to really imagine, but try and think back to WW1 and WW2 when young men and women went to war because that was simply the way things were back then - and as a result - many of them did not come home. They themselves were caught up in a universal experience that we HAD to go through - in order to learn from it. Yes war still exists. Yes it is still a complicated thing. Yes the universe is both yin and yang. In 2010, the universe asked me to carry a very large boulder for it - to help tell a story about the family of a young soldier (same as age me) who was killed in Afghanistan with the Canadian military. After much strugle, anguish, and honour, I completed the task - not just for the one soldier, but for all the soldiers, for my brothers and sisters, and their families - to help them heal. The story became my first full length movie and went on to be recognized with several international awards. Again, the objective of the movie is neither about a pro war or anti war message - it is about showing the reality of how war affects people, and inviting the audience to open up their heart in the process so that as a collective we can better understand one another, and most importantly - heal, and ask the important question of what world do we wish to collectively create for the future? Today on the page for the film at If I Should Fall, I have posted a special preview of the movie which pays special recognition to all of the Canadian soldiers lost in Afghanistan. Here is the post bellow. Out of personal respect, please refain from trying to start any debates in the comments of this post. 0N3 L0V3 - Brendon __ By telling the story of one, we tell the story of many.
