November 13th “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8 There are times when I have a momentary lapse of faith, which gives way to fear and frustration and with those two negative emotions opens the floodgates to worry and doubt. Whether I am overthinking a situation or having anxiety about the future, or regrets from the past, it is in these areas where my adversary attacks. Thankfully in these weak moments the Lord steps in and reminds me that I am a child of the King, and that nothing occurs in my life without His knowledge. We are limited in our ability to understand all that is happening around us, but the Lord has not abandoned us, in fact it is just the opposite, He is closer than we can fully comprehend. I take great encouragement from the Patriarchs and Matriarchs of the Bible, great men and woman who were strong in faith, yet at times struggled as we all do. The enemy is quick to point out every flaw seeking to convince me that I have no value, but I remind him of the enormous sacrifice that took place on Calvary and at the moment Jesus said “It is finished” he was thinking about me. “So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19
