~ November 17th - 21st is CONTACT LENS HEALTH WEEK~ *This 1st annual national observance is promoted by the American Optometric Association (AOA) to increase public awareness and encourage healthy behaviors around contact lens wear and care. *Each year, Americans make an estimated 930,000 doctors office and 58,000 ER visits due to keratitis (inflammation of the cornea) and contact lens disorders, according to CDC data. *The campaign will address three keys areas, including: 1 - Healthy contact lens hygiene habits 2 - Proper use, care and storage of contact lenses and supplies 3 - Regular visits to an eye care provider *Their key message is You only have one pair of eyes, take care of them!
