November 2,2014 Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time Lord, as we contemplate on the mystery of death and remember those who have gone ahead before us, may we celebrate our love for them and call to mind how much we have experienced Your love through them. Awaken our hearts and minds to the purification of those souls who long to see Your face as we offer sincere prayers in their behalf. Have mercy on the poor souls of Purgatory and cleanse them of all their sin, so that they may be made worthy to be united with You in heaven. As I reflect on my own mortality, increase my faith and zeal to do Your most holy will and grant me an unshakeable hope that, for the faithful believer, life is a journey and that death is not our final destination. Lord God, I firmly believe that You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Grant that I may look forward to sharing in Your resurrection someday, not just in a temporary dwelling place but in a permanent residence with You in paradise.
