Now I am a HUGE believer that it is never the obvious. We must look to the left or the right to see what it is really about. So when my father was in his coma I applied this principal. My fathers event had to take place in order to bring me to others. Yes, its about his coma, but truly ... it is much greater than that. I will share how God does it and here is one little example. Im in a grocery store with my daughter. Its just after Easter so all the Easter stuff is discounted. I see this little praying Teddy Bears and when you push the hand, it begin to pray ... now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep .......... etc. So I find the store manager and offer to take the remaining bears if he gives me a good price. He says $2 each. So I gather up the remaining 10. That day, when I go to visit my dad, I arrive on his floor with this arm full of Teddy Bears. I ask the nurse who would appreciate one. She informed me that there was a frail little woman down the hall, having a bad day. So away I/we (my daughter and I) went. When I enter her room, she is this teeny tiny frail Angel. Curled up in her blankets. Quietly moaning, I whisper her name. I ask her what I can do for her. Does she need something for pain ? No, she replies. No more pain pills, she has a terrible tummy ache. I ask the nurse if she could please track down some Ginger tea. It is soothing for the stomach. When the nurse leaves. I take one of my Teddy Bears, reach under her blanket, and tuck it in her arms. I press the little button on his paw and he begins to speak the prayer while it softly plays music. For the moment, she seems content and holding her bear tightly ... and I leave. She passes that evening .... and I remember the words of that meaningful little bear ............ Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord, my soul to keep ........ I have to think that bear allowed her permission to let go..... And Im sure He .... the giver of Love and all great things ... did just that ....
