Now, I hope Im wrong, but with the way this team has been playing it doesnt look as if we will finish in the top half of the league in win percentage. The Falcons MUST scrap the 4-2-5, and only use it in obvious passing situations. The defense lacks talent, and the coaches are misusing the talent we DO have. Continuing this type play would leave Atlanta with a top 16 pick in the 2015 draft, and a chance to actually re-tool this defense. My perfect offseason would be as follows. FREE AGENCY -Resign Corey Peters to a long term deal. -Resign Sean Weatherspoon to a prove-it deal. -Sign one of the top 2 pass rushers free agency has to offer in Justin Houston (youtube/watch?v=X92Y6mOD7wk) or Brian Orakpo (youtube/watch?v=rL_u9eUcjy0). If we plan on continuing our experiment with hybrid looks, this would be a tremendous step in the right direction. DRAFT Round 1-3 1st Round: DE Shawn Oakman, Baylor -Holy cow, at 69 and 280lbs this guy is huge. Hes quick, lean, and wins with his frame. He can succeed in a true hybrid defense. Theres no reason we should be fielding Kroy Biermann and Tyson Jackson on the edge in 4 man fronts. youtube/watch?v=QHO2xa2k6Tg 2nd Round: LB AJ Johnson, Tennessee -Atlanta seriously lacks in the linebacker corps. This kid has heart, and is always around the ball. I might be a bit biased as a Tennessee fan here, but I know you Georgia fans have became familiar with him over the years. youtube/watch?v=2qV2IrojShI 3rd Round: OT -I havent really dove into this years offensive tackle class yet, but right tackles can always be found on day 2. I am confident Lamar Holmes will one day be a solid player, but Atlanta cant wait forever, and behind him there isnt a whole lot of anything. Bring in someone to REALLY push for the starting gig. Yeah, I realize its early for these things. But let me dream of this defense with some capable players and coaching for once. -Jake
